State Health Care Reform

In 2009 several important changes were made to state law estimated to bring coverage to 109,000 adults. They included lowering the caps on premiums in the Open Enrollment Program, raising the age of coverage to 28 under certain conditions, and making it easier for employees who are not offered insurance at work, to buy health insurance using pre-tax dollars.  To learn about these health care reforms, which were included in HB 1, the State’s 2010-2011 budget legislation, click here.
