Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage is building a united consumer voice with the goal of achieving affordable, high quality care for all, with the support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the St. Luke’s Foundation and contributions from UHCAN Ohio’s donors and OCHC Leadership Team members.
OCHC educates thousands of consumers through its e-mailings, newsletters, web posts, Facebook postings, and the communications of its Leadership Team about health care reform and the tremendous benefits of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) passed March 23, 2010. OCHC informs policymakers of important opportunities for Ohio to gain the most from the ACA. After a successful “Fix It Now!” campaign in 2008-2010, we have introduced our Build It Now! campaign. The ACA has laid a foundation for health care reform, and we must Build It Now!
Visit the Take Action page to add your voice to the Build it Now! campaign and support health care reform that works for all Ohioans.
OCHC is working to build a united consumer voice and to achieve meaningful health care reform through the Affordable Care Act by:
- Convening and nurturing grassroots networks in Central, Northwest, Northeast, and Southwest Ohio to build a very loud voice for robust health care reform implementation throughout the state.
- Building partnerships to build Grassroots Networks in other Ohio communities.
- Setting OCHC policy positions through its Leadership Team, which represents 17 Ohio agencies and organizations, representing thousands of Ohioans.
- Keeping consumers informed about current health care reform and implementation efforts through regular communication on Facebook, Twitter, e-mails and newsletters, and phone conference calls.
- Informing lawmakers about current issues in health care reform through regular lawmaker letters.
- Leading campaigns to bring affordable health care to all Ohioans.
